Partners

Our current economic environment is creating profound challenges for both the church and individuals all across the country.
The church doorstep is a frequent destination for people in desperate need. But, most churches cannot fully meet the needs of every homeless family, single mom, or hungry child who asks for help.
Or can they?
Love in the Name of Christ (Love INC) enables churches and ministries in the Allendale and Coopersville areas to pool their resources and outreach services so that those in need are not turned away. It coordinates benevolence efforts and provides a "single point of entry" which reduces misuse of church resources. Love INC seeks a lasting solution to individual needs, and connects families in need with Christians in a loving atmosphere.

Church partnerships are essential to Love INC. Without church partners, there is no Love INC. Each Love INC partner church commits to cooperating in providing volunteer and financial support for the operation of Love INC.

Elements of a Church Partnership

Most often, in a comprehensive partnership, a church will demonstrate their commitment by:

  1. Introducing Love INC to the congregation.
  2. Appointing one or more church ministry coordinators to be the liaison(s) between the Love INC clearinghouse and the congregation. Liaisons attend a quarterly Love INC update meeting.
  3. Referring requests for help to the Love INC clearinghouse.
  4. Encouraging church members to participate in the ministry of Love INC.
  5. Organizing church members to serve by using their gifts and abilities.
  6. Accepting referrals for help from the Love INC clearinghouse to existing ministries.
  7. Providing clearinghouse volunteers from their church each year.
  8. Participating in the financial support of Love INC.
  9. Praying for Love INC, clients, partner churches, and for the unity in the body of Christ.
In addition, the church may also:

  1. Create a church or joint church ministry to fill a gap in community services.
  2. Follow-up with a visit to people who have received help through the Love INC clearinghouse.
